Grazia Daily have been tipped off today that DVF is turning decorator. It comes as no surprise that the lovely Diane von Furstenberg would turn her hand to this - since great taste like hers isn’t limited to designing dresses. Besides – have you seen her house? An amazing, Warhol-lined NY apartment, simply too, too divine schweedie.
 
The locale primed for its print-tastic makeover? The very regal surroundings of Claridges hotel in London. A place close to Diane’s heart as she has been staying in the hotel since the 70’s; “One of my fondest memories was when I was in London as a young, independent businesswoman and stayed at Claridge’s. I knew I had made it. To me, Claridge’s is the most glamourous hotel in the world; I regard it as my home away from home,” she reminisced.

From June this year you will be able to luxuriate in the blissful environs of a series of rooms and suites all imprinted with Ms von Furstenberg’s signature prints and bold colours. Sounds fab!
 
While we are on the subject of Ms VF – after the departure of her creative director and protégé, Nathan Jenden, who is now concentrating solely on his eponymous line which he shows here in London, there’s a new boy in town. His name is Yvan Mispelaere, and it seems like a match made in heaven so far.

His very fashtastic CV includes a stint on womenswear at Gucci, - where he’d barely left before embarking at the New York house, - not to mention Chloé, Valentino, Louis Féraud and other brands.  “I hope Yvan will immediately put his signature on the collection,” said Diane in her first joint interview with Mispelaere, “I’m curious to see his slant. But it will still be DVF.”

We can’t wait to see either. Exciting times!
