Grazia Daily LIVE blog of GUCCI

27 February 2010

OH MY GODFATHERS! We're about to blog LIVE while watching the streaming! Yep, faithful as ever to the fashion cause we've schlepped into the office on Saturday to bring you this live blog of the GUCCI show - streamed on that interweb for you reading pleasure.

Here we go! Crowds milling around - the familar pre-show scrum (lots of black coats) outside the show . . .

Backstage there looks to be an air of calm, while at the same time all hands to the pump. Plenty of rollers and hairnets visible (love a good hairnet) - but why aren't the girls ready yet? (hopefully this bit was filmed earlier, we can't wait much longer, our knees are weak with anticipation!)

Oooh, we think the venue with its giant chandeliers and wood panelling reminds us of the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank. (Just an idle thought there, Grazietters).

COME! ON! It must be show time soooooon! Still seeing those fresh little faces being dusted down with powder, - though less evidence of the ol' hairnets.

Now, last season Frida Giannini showed us an uncharacteristically modernist collection (sharp shapes with plenty of futuristic embellishment) in a palette of soft greys and whites (nice for summer) BUT will she continue this theme for AW or will they go back to the Disco-y template laid down by Mr Tom Ford during his tenure at the label?

Ooooh - first look at the FROW! Miss Wintour is IN THE BUILDING! *wibble*

First look - White tights and 70s looking high necked number.

Is that white leather?

Very seventies Halston - polo necks under a trench? Genius Miss Giannini

A slinky mink-coloured look or two . . . WANT those OTK boots. Fit, fit, fit!

From mink into graphite, gleaming hard grey.

Ooh - are those BOOTLEG trews?

Brilliant suiting. Seventies seventies, seventies. (and you try typing that with a hangover!)

O to the M to the G! J'ADORE those sunglasses.

Velvet bell bottoms. Scooby Doo-tastic!

More nifty bootlegs.

More fabulous coats.

This is reminding us a leedle bit of Chloe, then Celine under Pheobe Philo. Would appear that the return of the queen of minimal has made the other designers sit up and take more than a bit off notice.

Karlie Kloss makin' the runway her own. We love her trademark stomp.

Oooh - after a zillion lush coats, now the eveningwear. First flash of colour for the day - a wine coloured ensemble. Interrrrrrr-esting!

Is that a shearling skirt? Very novel Miss Giannini!

Glittery trousers. We can see us putting those on our list.

Chanel Iman in deep fluff. verrrrrrrrrrry nice.

Subtle sexiness in the form of sheer backs - a return of the focus on the erogenous zone of the back.

Glittery, gothy eveningwear a la [French Vogue editor] Carine Roitfeld. Nice - but does this represent anything new? hmmm.

A sheer evening gown in a shade we've decided to christen 'burnt toast' very sophis.

Whooooooo-hooooooooooo! Finale.

Phewsers trewsers! That was a lotta looks!
