It's an odd mixture of high trash and extreme glamour that makes eighties Chanel jewellery so damn damn appealing. And while eBay (bless them) have a fair selection of branded chains and earrings, the best site in the world for vintage Chanel (currently available are a Chanel Cassette vs Record belt from 2004 and a vintage gold Chanel nameplate necklace, plus bags of CC clip-ons) is www.ClaireInc.com. “Claire Inc leaps shopping aisles in a single bound,” they boast. “Claire Inc finds it if you can't. Claire Inc is land down under. Claire Inc is nouvelle vague.” Run by a stylist called Belinda Humphris out of Adelaide, Australia, the site specialises in 'inaccessible designer vintage' sourced from America. It's quite a reach for us grabby Brits, but sometimes, for the good stuff, you have to go the long way round.
