Kate designs for Longchamp and Topshop, Sophie Dahl is writing books and Naomi’s enjoying success in her break-out occupation – she organised a catwalk extravaganza in aid of the Haiti relief fund and it went down A STORM! We’ve seen her hanging out with Sarah Brown plenty of times, and know that she is active for a number of charities . . . could she be planning to go into philanthropy full time when she hangs up her stilettos for the last time?
Paying members of the public - rather than the usual editors and buyers - applauded as a galaxy of stars minced down the runway in an array of designer finery, from Burberry to Dior to a moving finale of all-Alexander McQueen pieces (we were wondering why she was spotted at McQueen's store the day after the designer died - and now we know). Styling was thanks to Rachel Zoe, who donated her services to the cause.
More than enough goss was generated for a whole fashion week, let alone a single show! Opening the show were a couple of ladies who have been responsible for more than their fair share of catwalk moments – though not usually by being on it – Donna Karan and Diane Von Furstenberg, who supported each other with a high five..
Non-models Fergie (Duchess of York, not Black Eyed Pea) – who looked mortified throughout, bless her, and Chris Brown both managed to keep their dignity intact, while Agyness, veteran of surely a bazillion shows by now, toppled off her towering Burberry platforms, not once but twice. Oh dear oh dear Agy - (maybe our favourite Britmodel hasn't been walking on enough catwalks lately and is out of practice...?)
She later tweeted about her blushes, saying "1st show of fashion week! Took a tumble! Got up! Fell again. Should have stayed down the 1st time. Twice! WTF! Ouch my knees!"
Bezzy mate H. Holland also revealed his thoughts on the micro blogging site saying –
“Din dins with @aggydeyn just praying she doesn't fall over on the way to the table. You never know with that one...”
“So aggy just got here. She fell TWICE during fashion for relief. Soz n chips Naomi”.
Henry’s been a right busy Miss Lizzy over in NY, tweeting non stop about the shows, plus yummy restaurants he’s been frequenting. London fashion week starts on Friday, Henry! Don’t you have a collection to put together?
Anyway. Well done indeed to Miss Campbell for all her hard work. Amazingly, there is going to be a show in London too; and YOU could be there - to buy tickets check details from our Naomi Campbell interview last week! Click it before they go!
