A week in the style of Beyoncé

05 February 2010

‘Cos my body’s too booootiliiiciiiiouusss for yer babaaaay. Yes, it’s true; the Grazia office is alight with Beyoncé’s best booty-shakin’ choons. Because all week, without fail, the diva has been on top fashion form, rocking one fabulous dress after another (oh, and she did win an impressive six Grammys too). Whether picking up one of her many awards, or debuting her perfume ‘Heat’, Beyoncé has stuck to a fail-safe formula of one part Sasha Fierce (note the studs, glitter, killer red stilettos and cleavage) and one part red-carpet glamour-puss (see figure-flattering gowns, girly ruffles and the most perfect make-up ever). And whilst the rest of us may not have star-studded red carpets to walk, or flashbulb-popping-pap-filled press launches to attend, we’re forever partial to a bit of high-fashion dress spotting.

So, what’s Bey been wearing this week? Well, to walk the Grammys red carpet in style, she’s picked up on Cheryl Cole’s couture designer du-jour, Stéphane Rolland, wearing a nude, ribbed-detail floor-sweeping gown – which, naturellement, zips up or down (down in Bey’s case) at the front to reveal some boob-age. Making another show-stopping turn, this time on the awards stage, a gold chain and Swarovski appliquéd minidress from Armani Privé – the look maybe didn’t necessitate huge hoop earrings, but we’ll let it slide.

Next up, two leather looks: the first, a patchwork creation from Atelier Versace and then a black, studded, jaggedy-hemmed urban warrior frock from Balmain for her post-Grammy wardrobe change.

Later in the week, Bey’s fragrance launch outfits comprised of a navy Rafael Cennamo minidress and a flirty ruffled one-shouldered number in scarlet from Marc Bouwer. Look and learn, ladies. Should we be so lucky as to go out tonight, then a tip or two from Bey would be more than welcome.
