Last night Grazia Daily traipsed our weary boots down the glorious venue that is the V&A museum to partake in what we thought would be an entertaining and hopefully insprirational fashion show – The London College of Fashion’s MA design students final presentation.
Little did we know that we would be so blown away TWICE! Firstly by the glittering array of London A-listers (Grayson Perry, Jodie Harsh, Jo Wood, Mika and Paloma Faith) and fashion bigwigs (Harold Tillman of Jaeger and the BFC, Hilary Alexander of the Telegraph, and Joan Burstein of Browns) swigging champers and cheek pecking away at the reception.
Then, we settled down to watch the show (and with 18 designers presenting, we were glad we got comfy), and we weren’t disappointed by the collections either. Disco-futurism was given a new lease of life by So Ra Kim’s pastel and metallic combos, an injection of fun was provided by Soo Youn Seo’s block colour ensembles and 40’s glamour was perfectly executed by Nicole Murray.
Elsewhere outfits took a turn for the macabre, with fur and feathers galore from Merve Tuna and Sophie Condie who mixed feathers with skulls and chains for a medieval twist. Phew! Well worth a making the trip west say us.
