Multi-talented Vee Bee has been offered a big ol’ bag of money to help out designing a Dubai hotel. Yes, really. Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum has offered a reported £25 million for one Karl Lagerfeld and La Beckham to share if they’d like to choose the curtains and fold the napkins for the planned development, which would be on a fashion-themed manmade island (fashion themed? Does this mean it will be in the shape of a stiletto when you fly above it?) off the coast of Dubai.

Well, we for one think this is an absolutely brill idea. The thought of a whole island dedicated to fashion is so amazing we can’t believe that no one has thought to build one before! (Presumably the shops will not even stock food containing carbs, there will be no pavements as everyone whizzes around in taxis and when you turn on the taps, pure Moët comes gushing out). We can’t wait to visit.

The Hotel part, on the other hand, isn’t quite so new. Versace, of course, have their charming little shack on the gold coast of Australia, Palazzo Versace. (It's like a real-life version of a Barbie house with gold taps and fluffy pink towels.)

John Rocha has a very tasteful, elegant Georgian townhouse on the River Liffey in Dublin with sleek, contemporary interiors called The Morrison.

AND Mulberry founders Roger and Monty Saul have brought their vision to life in an elegant country house hotel near Bath called Charlton House, which is dressed top to bottom in Mulberry's signature tweeds and tartans. This is absolutely true, we promise. Ahhh. We’re going to have extravagant daydreams today, we can just tell.
