Kate lets the cat out of the bag!

When it comes to bags, Kate Moss surely knows her onions. At one time or another, she’s been the face of Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Roberto Cavalli, Chanel, Missoni, Longchamp, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Burberry and Stella McCartney, so when she tucks a particular bag under her arm (or reclines seductively on a sofa next to one), and her glassy eyes fix on you from the page of a magazine, you know you want to buy that bag.

Following the announcement last week that Kate Moss has created a line of bags for modelling employers Longchamp, she has been talking about the inspiration behind various pieces in the range. 'The emerald green pochette, whose colour I love, I wanted to be very simple, based on the shape of an envelope. The zebra was inspired by an old pony printed valise from the '70s that my boyfriend [Jamie Hince] brought back from San Francisco, very dry, very trashed, without any glamour, and which I loved. As for the bags in cognac leather, it's a colour and a very supple leather that we found in equestrian accessories stores, and we unfortunately can no longer find.'  So there you are then, stationery, rummaging around on holiday and hanging out with the horsey set. Perfect inspiration for spring!    [Fashionologie]
