Q: Am I too old to wear over knee flat boots? I am a curvy but slim, petite, 53... - Gelana
A: Can’t imagine where you get that idea from. I have had a thing about my knees ever since I saw them in a photograph and reckoned they had developed ways of expressing themselves independently of how I was feeling (mostly with a scowling downward smile). And I honestly think most womens’ wardrobes would benefit from some candid reappraisal of how their knees look. For me, over the knee boots have released a myriad of previously unwearable options among short skirts and dresses and skinny trousers and leggings. Age has nothing to do with it.
The over the knee boot has been chic since the early days of Yves Saint Laurent back in the 1970’s. A petite frame will look best in a fitted boot. Anything that flares out above the knee takes you too close to Dick Wittington’s pantomime cat. I am wondering why you haven’t considered a heel. I bought the Karen Millen stretch suede high heeled over the knee boot with a platform and have practically been living in them ever since.
