Would you pay to watch a fashion show? Not watching it from the comfort of your sofa as it’s live streamed online, but actually sitting there on the 3rd row. Well, maybe even on the 1st row, depending on how much you’re willing to pay for it. Belgian designer Dirk Bikkembergs is selling tickets to Joe Public for his Sport Couture men’s show in Milan for 11 euros a pop. While he is donating profits from his paying attendees to charity, it does make us wonder if this is something other designers should start doing. Young designers could make some money if they sell the cheap seats at back where overly eager fashion students usually sit. Hell, established designers could make some money off cash-rich fashion fans! Just imagine Anna Wintour shouldering up next to an excited fashion no one – amazing! Well, it’s unlikely that any PR worth their jobs would let that happen, but imagine, for just £8 you too could eyeball the US Vogue editor across the catwalk, in between looking at the collection, of course.
