Depressed by the slippery snow and sunset at 4pm? Well, Spanish luxury brand Loewe brings you a feast for the eyes by way of their tropical S/S '10 campaign. The shots feature the lovely Daria Werbowy clasping the brand’s light-as-a-feather leather bags in a fantastical garden. Grazia Daily always likes to go one better, though, and thus we bring you some sneaky ‘making of’ pics as well.
The campaign is the handiwork of prestigious Dutch photography duo Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who, when they are not creating ads for top brands, are working their digital magic on imagery showcased in style mags such as Interview Magazine, Visionaire, Vogue Homme or being exhibited in galleries like White Cube, London, or the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York.
If, like us, you’re a bit of a fashion geek who’s ever pondered the thought: ‘Photography duo? How does that work?’ then having a gander at these pics’ll give you a bit of insider insight. (Another powerful pair would be Mert and Marcus). One last thing, fact fans: it’s a good time to mention Loewe, since this month marks the 2nd anniversary of Brit designer Stuart Vevers appointment to the role of creative director at the Spanish heritage brand. On his CV is time doing the accessories at Marc Jacobs and Mulberry so there can’t be much the man doesn’t know about handbags. Congratulations Stuart! (Or should that be ¡felicidades!)
