Emma’s baby brother is a Burberry model!

06 January 2010

So yesterday we showed you the first image of Emma Watson in the new season's Burberry campaign (in a dreamy sugar pink trench coat – yum). Ms Watson was, naturally, surrounded by cool London-boy models (it’s how they roll at Burberry, dontcha know).

The actress’s male entourage are pouting pro models – Max Hurd (a sort of posh, clean Pete Doherty, if you can imagine such a thing), Matt Gilmour (a blue-eyed, baby-faced musician whose dad is Pink Floyd's David Gilmour), and George Craig, a British rocker from the band One Night Only.

But, as it turns out, the other model being shot for the campaign by legendary snapper Mario Testino is Emma’s baby brother, 17-year-old Alex, who is the current face of Burberry's Beat for Men fragrance and was recently voted one of British GQ's 50 Best Dressed Men of 2009. Oh, and he’s gorgeous too.

'We've worked again with Emma Watson who has a classic, effortless beauty and is incredibly talented,' said Christopher Bailey, Burberry's chief creative officer, about the campaign which features clothes and accessories from Burberry Prorsum, Burberry London and Burberry Brit collections. 'Alongside Emma we have four British guys: Emma's younger brother Alex Watson, Matt Gilmour, Max Hurd and George Craig. The energy of the images and the dynamic cast reflect the different attitudes and expressions of the Burberry guy and girl.'

Anyway, the images are as glossy and beautiful as you would expect from Mr Testino, and it sounds like the shoot was a bit of a laugh – as you can see in the behind-the-scenes video below.

'We always talk about how much fun we have making these images,' says Bailey. 'I wanted to capture some of the excitement that you feel on set when all these different creative attitudes and personalities come together. Mario has shot these as both stills and video so we can share some of that energy with a wider audience.'

Oh to be a Burberry model. Sigh.
