Let’s face it, come the New Year, treating ourselves to a new handbag isn’t exactly top of our list of priorities (especially when we’ve already spent our monthly pay packet before the month had even began - shhhh)! But we'll definitely be making an exception for this bag - because 100% of the proceeds go to charity. And not just any charity, one of Grazia’s favourites - The Campaign for Bulgaria's Abandoned Children, which we first featured back in 2007, after Kate Blewett, the charity's founder, visited the Mogilino state-run orphanage in Bulgaria for a BBC documentary. Since then, thanks to Blewett’s efforts, excellent progress has been made, with many of the children being re-homed. But there is still a lot of work to be done, and donations are still needed. Blewett has now launched the Baba: Give a Granny program, where women are given special training to become the childrens’ primary carers, learning how to provide constant monitoring and human contact (yep, we know, it’s completely heartbreaking). And whilst you can also simply sponsor a Baba, we say why not treat yourself to one of these super-chic bags which have been created by the accessories designer for Jigsaw! Each bag purchased will pay for a Baba (surrogate granny) for one child for 6 weeks. Why not get the year off to a good start and make a difference!
