This year has been a great one for new talent coming out the woodwork, both in fashion and showbiz terms. And we reckon next year is set to be even better. Check out our ones to watch for 2010…

Carey Mulligan

Hailed as the new Audrey Hepburn (no icon pressure then…), Carey Mulligan dazzled us in her break-through role in An Education and has also notched up numerous appearances in our Best-Dressed lists over the past few months. With her acting talent plus a pixie crop to die for and a feminine, romantic fashion style, she is truly a force to watch out for.

Georgia Jagger

Hudson Jeans, Rimmel, and now Versace? Georgia Jagger has racked up more awesome campaigns in a few months than many models do in years (or ever, come to that). The 17-year-old daughter of Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall rocks her trademark gap-teeth and edgy blond locks, really cementing herself as the model of the moment - as confirmed when she picked up the Model of the Year gong at this year’s British Fashion Awards! And she hasn’t even finished school yet, wow. Can anyone say ‘super duper model in the making’?

Taylor Momsen

She may not be the first of the Gossip Girl ladies to spring to mind, but Taylor Momsen is quietly sneaking up on Blake and Leighton in the fashion stakes. Far from conforming to her Little J school-girl-meets-stereotype-rebellious-rock-chick style, Taylor has experimented with colours, materials, lengths, beauty looks, and well, just about everything style-wise. Plus her band, The Pretty Reckless, was signed up to the same management as the Black Eyed Peas and John Legend in May. And they ain’t half bad, y’know. We say: style icon in the making.

Lily Allen

Lily Allen has really revealed her fashion credentials this year, after being snapped up by Karl Lagerfeld to become the new face of luxury brand Chanel. Looking stunning as she performed live at their Paris show earlier this year, she quite simply knocked everybody’s socks off. And 2010 is set to be a big year for the singer, as she has recently announced her decision to take time-out from music to pursue a fashion career, start up a record label and open a shop with her sister! Plus she seems all the more intent on settling down with current beau Sam Cooper. Som personally and professionally, Lil’s going to be a busy bee indeed!

Kristen Stewart

You would have to have been living under a rock to not know who Kristen Stewart is. The Twilight star was the main actress in the biggest series of the year (as well as part of a rather juicy ‘are they or aren’t they?’ love triangle) and is set to appear in a new film at the Sundance Film Festival in January. She has also just discovered her inner fashionista, appearing at the Twilight premieres in a whole host of designer garb from Proenza Schouler to Balenciaga. So, with a glittering film career (including part 3 of the Twilight saga) ahead of her and a strong fashion future, we’re sure keeping an eye on this one.
