NEW ISSUE! Grazia meets Joe McElderry!

22 December 2009

We nearly cried (not literally, of course, that would be weird) when Joe McElderry was beaten to the Christmas number one spot. ‘Geooordie Joe’ with his beaming smile and note-perfect warbling was a firm favourite in the Grazia office during The X Factor (we backed the right horse, eh?), so we were over the moon when we got to meet the man himself at the (surprisingly hawt) photoshoot for our fantastic double issue for Christmas, which is out TODAY!

And take it from us, he is possibly the sweetest person ever, with the most incredible voice (we heard him sing to himself in ze toilet). He’s absolutely tiny, even smaller than he looks on television, and has none of the pretension or attitude that someone who has just won the biggest show in Britain could have. He greets everyone who walks in with a hug and kiss (on BOTH cheeks *swoon*) and when we ask him how it’s all been, he looks a bit overwhelmed and tells us:

'It’s been great but so mad. You know when you just want to get home and have a quiet Christmas?' We then nod along knowingly even though, alas, we don’t know about the highs and lows of instant fame... *sob*

One of the Grazia staffers has not stopped raving about Joe, despite the fact that she was Camp Olly for weeks. In short: we. Love. Him. And if you're just as obsessed, check out today’s new issue of Grazia for an in-depth interview with Joe, plus see the results of our fab shoot with him! We think that, like us, you will be a little bit taken aback by quite how smouldering he looks – this guy is incredibly photogenic. And for a little taster of what’s in store, just watch this video of Joe doing our famous Grazia fashion quiz. Following in the footsteps of X Factor-ites Jedward (we can’t even remember how well they did because they kept going off on weird tangents about Anna Wintour… don’t ask), we put Joe’s style knowledge to the test.

Watch our video below to see if being mentored by style icon Cheryl has helped with 'our Joe's' fashion savvy...
