*Squeals* we were promised snow today and now it’s here! Yep, we’re excited too! It’s just soooo pretteeee! So pass the Quality Street and let’s listen to Driving Home For Christmas (which may or may not be a carol), just one more time.
In anticipation of the flurries, the Grazia team are naturally kitted out in their best snowy fashion gear. We thought you might like to take a peek at what we wear when it goes arctic… Feel free to leave feedback, we can take it! x
Paula rocks The Deluxe Puff
Yes, we know. It’s not fair that Style Director Paula can make a padded jacket look like some kind of couture creation. She’s wearing it belted over wide-legged tweed Maria Cornejo trousers and a V neck black cashmere sweater to complete her look of laid-back sophistication.
Angela’s Fleecy layers
Is it one of the Gap cheerleaders? No, it’s web editor Angela Buttolph, wrapped up in several layers of fleecy toastiness. Fleecy-collared jacket, and ice-skate style boots from H&M. Sequinned jumper by Markus Lupfer (because 'you can still do disco when it’s sub zero'). Scarf by Burberry. Egg-nog by Starbucks ('always colour coordinate your winter beverages').
Hannah’s Street Chic
Our resident Style Hunter Hannah Almassi, should have picked up a few tricks on how to dress for freezing weather. Coat H&M: 'It’s an oversized style – I added the studded belt to pull it in.' Ridiculous fuzzy ear-muffs from Browns, lace-up leather ankle boots - vintage Russell & Bromley – 'they were my mum’s!' – and leopard-print H&M gloves (how genius with a neutral coat)? Oh, and that’s not a snood, it’s a cowl-neck knit dress from River Island 'but I can pull the collar up like a hood over my head'.
Charlie’s Foxy Cape
Executive fashion and beauty director Charlie Miller rarely appears looking anything less than catwalk-ready. For snow day that means a foxy black cape by Full Circle, pale grey skinny jeans by Paige ('love grey denim for winter!'), grey boyfriend jacket by Whistles, Zara marl grey T-shirt (yes, a T shirt, but she is wearing two jackets) and erm, Alberta Ferretti black suede ankle boots (yes, totally impractical– more of this shortly...)
Catherine’s Schoolgirl Cool
Working her usual Parisien school-girl chic, junior fashion editor Catherine Nieto makes a duffel coat from Jigsaw look like a sophisticated style statement. Worn with a looped charcoal grey scarf by Uniqlo, a sleek bag from Nottinghill design, and finished off with um, wedge heeled suede ankle boots by Christian Louboutin – 'perfect for snow.' Not.
NB It may not have escaped your attention that suede boots are the order of the day in the Grazia offices despite the forecasts of flurries outside. Today’s lesson: real fashion can’t be constrained by such trifles as functionality.
And if you think that’s impractical…the editor is in silver sequins today (no, really..)
