+J for Uniqlo Spring drops in January!

Jil Sander

When Jil Sander was first tapped to design a line for high-street giant Uniqlo, no-one could’ve predicted the madness that was about to ensue. +J for Uniqlo, with its sleek tailoring and minimalistic elegance, had a huge build-up (not least by Grazia Daily, ehem) but this was far surpassed on the launch day. On October 1st from 8am, a mahoosive queue was meandering its way down Oxford Street. The day’s sales targets were made five times over by the close of play, and the Uniqlo website nearly crashed as sales increased by an incredible 1,750%. A second drop of the collection even had to be done just a week after the first to meet demand. Wowsers!

So, when we found out about Jil Sander designing a second Spring line for Uniqlo, well we thought we’d have to wait until at least February or so before we could get our hands on the elegant, modern and luxurious results. But no no no, the new +J line will drop in Uniqlo on 7th January! *Cue mad ecstatic cheering and applause*

The new range will launch in London stores and online at www.uniqlo.com, debuting ‘fresh perspectives on volume, teamed with perfect harmony in fibre, colour, optics, and touch’ Okay, we don’t really understand what that means, but sounds amazing, right? +J for Spring promises pieces in white, ivory, pastels and chalked-out acids (we LOVE the sound of that). Imagine wools, tech-satins, cottons, and neat tailoring combined with ultra-feminine luxury… ooh we just can’t stop day-dreaming about it now! Considering the incredible reception Ms Sander’s first line for the Japanese retailer received, we can’t wait to see the reaction when this one hits stores. Happy New Year indeed!
