Another week equals another chance to pass judgement on Cheryl Cole’s sartorial choices on the X Factor. And after fellow judge Dannii Minogue claimed that while she styles herself, La Cole requires not one but TWO stylists to preen and prettify her, the results had better be good...

First up, Cheryl was going for gold on Saturday’s live show and looked like a sparkling Christmas present-slash-Ferrero Rocher in this beaded mini dress from Stéphane Rolland’s Haute Couture collection. The French designer, who has been on our fashion radar since working at Balenciaga and dressing superstar stylistas including Rihanna, was more than happy to dress our national treasure in his shimmering creation: “It creates a halo of light, glorifying her perfect figure. The huge origami hip bow makes this haute couture piece as unique and memorable as she is." Altogether now, awwwhh... Chez complemented the frock’s asymmetric neckline by plaiting her trademark waves into a tight side plait, just like the one Shakira sported last week. And after both ladies worked matchy-matchy pony tails a couple of weeks ago, we’re seriously starting to wonder what the deal is with these two stealing each other’s hair styles? If you’re stuck for ideas girls, surely Dannii’s versatile fringe provides enough inspiration for us all...

Well well well, looks like Cheryl heeded Paula Reed’s advice to cast aside those sugary pinks she wore last week and try something a little more comfortable with this sophisticated black number for yesterday’s results show. In yet another Stéphane Rolland Couture dress from the designer's most recent collection, she continued to work this weekend's one shouldered trend but added a flair of fun with some ruffled detailing. As for that mature hair do which resembles the catwalk style, we’re just thankful she decided to leave the Gaga wig at home. We bet she makes Joe proud to be a Geordie...

  • I think we could do without the strange stick insect rendering of CC in that sketch! As for the outfits, v "Sindy" or "Barbie", whatever. Her stance is perfect, all she needs is the cardboard packaging surround with cellophane window...
