Another day, another round of star-studded parties. A host of fashion fanatics stepped out in style for last night’s hot events, including the British launch of the new Prada book and the Woodie Awards where the likes of Alexa Chung worked it Stateside. But what did they wear? Find out below...
Prada book launch
While the US launch party for the new must-have book, Prada: Creativity, Modernity, Innovation saw some bra-flashing edginess, the British celebration was a little more conventional style-wise. Just take Stella Tennant who looked sleek and sharp courtesy of her take on preppy-meets-rocker chic with a tailored jacket layered over a contrasting cream silk shirt and skinny trousers. Just impeccable! Jewellery designer Lara Bohinc also looked rather dapper with her shearling jacket flung over an animal print tee and grey tulip skirt. We’re loving those peep-toe booties which accent her metallic belt and that red Chanel bag packs the perfect colour punch.
Both Katie Grand and Trish Goff wore LBDs but with a twist. While Katie accessoried with an awesome dinosaur-shaped bag from Giles’ S/S ‘10 collection and a fur throw to add punctuation, Trish pushed the fashion envelope with her bold berry tights.
Ever the daring dresser, Tolula Adeyemi knows how to make a major statement in this superhero-esque get-up. She rocked this season’s footwear fad, the over-the-knee boot, to complement her tiny furry shorts but with a high-neck top and beautiful Mulberry bag, she keeps it on the safe side of scandalous.
If you were at the mtvU Woodie Awards, feminine frocks were the only way to go. First up is Alexa Chung who chose to continue her recent girly vibe with this nautical-inspired dress teamed with flat pumps. Although we must admit she looks ever so cute, what’s happened to her trademark fashion edge? Bring back the biker boots we say! As for Zooey Deschanel, we’re developing a serious style crush that shows no sign of abating, especially after she showed off her signature kooky cool taste last night. Wearing a metallic short and sweet number with a waist-accenting belt, she was the ultimate charming darling. Also following the trend was Jessica Stam who funked it up a notch after her extremely elegant ensemble at the CDFA awards earlier this week. The model looked fab in a grey crochet dress and strappy heels with an added fun flash of colour thanks to a fluorescent belt. Very eclectic!
