Finding out the gossip about this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show line-up has been as exciting as getting a sneak peek at our Christmas presents before the big day. Who is walking and who isn’t (usually because they’re pregnant or have just given birth…), who are the new additions to the catwalk (our very own Rosie Huntington-Whitely for one) and who’s presenting the event (Heidi Klum is playing host this year) – all big questions we’ve been finding out one by one in the count down to the show on Thursday.

And one of the new faces that has caught our eye is Chinese model Liu Wen, who is the first Asian girl ever to walk in a VS show. The 21-year-old, with her beautiful eyes and sculpted cheekbones, has graced the covers of major Chinese fashion glossies and made her catwalk debut in 2008 when she walked for Burberry and Jean Paul Gaultier. She has bagged ad campaigns for DKNY, Gap, and Calvin Klein’s One fragrance, and has also strutted her stuff for Chanel, Balenciaga and Hermes as well as Prada, Gucci, YSL and Anna Sui in New York, Milan and Paris this year. Busy girl! Fellow VS model Jarah Mariano, who is of Chinese, Hawaiian and Korean descent, was the first Asian girl to feature in the catalogue in 2006 but for some reason, was M.I.A for the subsequent fashion show.

We’re excited to see an increased presence of Asian models in the industry. With China forecast to become the world's top buyer of luxury goods by 2015 (according to recent research by PricewaterhouseCoopers), it makes sense that those consumers are represented by models in advertising and catwalk shows. So we say watch this space for a model revolution…
