When Marc Jacobs revealed his 2010 wedding to Lorenzo Martone would be a “very low-key” affair, we were a little miffed. But now we’re thinking perhaps the reason our favourite fashion couple will be keeping it fuss-free is because Lorenzo’s schedule is about to get quite a bit more hectic.
Together with former Elite marketing director Ryan Brown, Mr Martone has created a public relations agency specifically for models, in order to “build equity around the girls’ personality”. So far, the pair have a good array of names on their books including Lydia Hearst, Fernanda Motta, Julie Henderson, Jessica White and Victoria’s Secret starlet Alessandra Ambrosio, who is reported to have sold the most items for VS since fellow Brazilian Gisele left in 2007. With the ever-increasing trend of models branching out into acting, music and designing à la Agy, Lily and Ben, we reckon this is a genius idea. It was only the other day model du jour Dree Hemingway (did we mention that we love her a little bit?) was telling us about how much she wants to get into the acting and music biz, so there’s definitely a big market for this kind of agency. Although, we perhaps draw the line at singing… we don’t want another Irina Lazareanu now, do we? [NY Post]
