Victoria Beckham has made her mark as a fashion designer (just ask Cheryl, JLo and Elle Macpherson) and even as a fashion scout as we saw when she was spotted eye-ing up the young designer talent at LFW’s Fashion East show this year. And now it seems VB is about to take a step in another direction within the fashionista industry… by setting up a modelling agency!
Entertainment super-mogul Simon Fuller, who is Victoria’s manager as well as the man behind the original Pop Idol series and 19 Entertainment, is said to be in talks with Posh about setting up an agency in New York. Rumours suggest the business would be a stateside version of Storm Models London in which Simon already owns a 51% stake.
A source told the Daily Mail; “Simon knows that Victoria is very savvy when it comes to fashion. Simon's first foray into fashion was to team up Roland Mouret [as the designer’s backer] and Victoria, which was a huge success. Victoria is a key asset to Simon and he wants her to take on a major role."
We think Simon’s right on the money with this one. Victoria has a lot of knowledge and a keen eye for fashion talent, and with Simon’s business brain we’re sure this venture will be a raging success. Oo we can just smell the ANTM-esque reality TV series…
