The Barbie/Louboutin love affair!

Grazia Daily could totally moonlight as a detective. After all, we reckon we’ve rumbled the mystery of the Paris Hilton jewel thief… it was Christian Louboutin and his accomplice Barbie!

As part of the celebrations honouring Barbie’s 50^th birthday (we want the number of her facialist please…) Mr Louboutin has revealed his take on the Barbie As Muse project, in which fashion designers, including Givenchy and DVF, will interpret Barbie in their own way. Following his hot pink footwear creations with signature red soles for the Barbie Runway Show at NFW, the designer and iconic doll have been enjoying a series of dates together, all documented in a new photography style-calendar, A Year In Paris. Christian has also designed three dolls, inspired by Egyptian queen Nefertiti and Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe, which all come with not one but FOUR pairs of mini Louboutins, including leopard-print OTK boots. The dolls have all been customised to feature a new tan skin tone as well as a new in-step, so they can wear higher heels. As of December, the calendar plus the Louboutin Barbie as a jewellery burglar can be bought together in a Barbie collector’s set for £100 exclusively from Net-a-Porter.
