A Month in the style of… Anna Friel

Anna Friel has never been known for her style. In fact, she is still more known for that Brookside kiss in 1993. But now, thanks in large part to her appearance on stage in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Anna is upping her fashion act. Every night as she leaves by the backstage door into a crowd of awaiting paps, she slaps on the lippy and treats the pavement like her catwalk. Not for her the idea of dressing down after dressing up, nope, it seems she’s not a dressing gown into the car kind of a girl. Instead, over the last month, she’s treated us to ballgowns, babydolls, prom dresses, vintage finds, and even a gangster-moll inspired look. There have been hats, leather trousers, skyscraper heels, jeans, Converse and even denim dungarees. She’s not frightened to experiment, even when some looks are more successful than others…

This week she proved that she’s ahead of the game by being the first to wear a dress from Kate Moss’s new collection for Topshop, which isn’t in stores until next week, and followed it up last night with a blouse from the same collection. Yup, she’s a high street girl at heart (and we love her for it), but recently she has also developed a bit of a fashion crush on a certain handsome Italian designer. Well, his clothes at least. For Anna has been spotted in three looks by Antonio Berardi over the last month. While we hear that they have never met, this could be a gorgeous style match, and if he plans to show his AW ’10 collection in London this February, we know who’d love to be front row…
