Anna Wintour’s First 'It' Bag!

There are few style icons more impeccably dressed than Anna Wintour: hot heels, glossy bob, beautiful coats, sharp shades, sleek shifts. So imagine our surprise, after our many years of style-stalking the editrix, to suddenly realise that something is always missing from her ensembles. Hands up anyone who clocked that La Wintour never carries a bag. How have we never noticed this before? And how does she manage without one? (OK, yeah – a chauffeur-driven car is a good substitute).

Well, apparently the US Vogue Editor has finally found a bag that is so gorgeous, she has broken her no-bag rule. And it’s British!

Grazia spotted that La Wintour is photographed in French style magazine Paris Match this week, proudly holding the East West bag by Mulberry. Mulberry’s Creative Director Emma Hill gave Grazia the low-down: ' For autumn/winter '09 we had fun with our iconic Bayswater’s proportions and added this new addition to the family, the Large East West Bayswater which comes in the "to-die-for" sludge and emerald suede croc print!"

And if it’s good enough for Anna Wintour…
