After the battering that the Emanuel Ungaro show took in Paris, from buyers and press alike, no one would blame designer Estrella Archs (yes, she was the other designer), if she decided to keep her head down for a bit and perhaps spend long periods of time in a dark room. But instead she immediately dusted herself down and, leaving the Ungaro debarcle behind her, she showcased her namesake label on Friday in Paris. And this time the reviews weren’t quite so scathing. The designs were simpler, the concept more grown-up and, on the whole, while it looked commercial, it wasn’t aimed solely at the tween LA brigade. We imagine that life behind the scenes at Estrella’s label is less about the drama than Ungaro. The Times newspaper had an exclusive insight into Lindsay Lohan’s first steps as artistic advisor and witnessed scenes such as ‘[Lohan] picked up a black and white scarf and tied it around her head, then replaced it with a black one, and then clumsily stuck a red sequin-covered heart to the side of her head while a team of designers watched her...’ Hmm, wonder how long the partnership will continue, and when Estrella will jump ship to continue on her own talents?
