10 best dressed: c'est magnifique!

08 October 2009

This Paris Fashion Week has been a FROW fest with a whole host of stars gracing the shows and yesterday’s extravaganza saw the best turnout yet. From the usual fashion devotees, including Kate Moss and Julia Restoin Roitfeld, to surprise appearances from actress Freida Pinto and songstress Nelly Furtado, we’ve given them all the once over and collected the 10 best dressed for your viewing pleasure...

After joining the glitterati at Burberry, Freida Pinto chose the ghetto fabulous Louis Vuitton show as her next Fashion Week stop. She added a flash of colour to the proceedings with her multi-layered electric blue skirt from the A/W ‘09 collection, which worked beautifully with the simplicity of her jersey top. Those peep-toe booties with playful tassles are giving us some serious shoe shivers! Another A-List actress in attendance was Leighton Meester who represented the designer label in that eclectic jumpsuit at the MET ball so it was no surprise to see her flying in for the show. The Gossip Girl star looked foxy in her black Resort 2010 frock with floral neon brights and how fabulous is that ruffled detailing spilling out of her belted waistcoat? We’re sending her waves of admiration for teaming those heels with a pair of socks Chloë Sevigny-style too! Daisy Lowe joined them but decided to continue the monochrome mania by opting for a more sophisticated look in her white miniskirt, smart tuxedo jacket and those unmistakable LV shoes. Swoon!

Natalia Vodianova camilla belle

Natalia Vodianova looked absolutely adorable in a pleated minidress with high ruffled neck, while up-and-coming stylista, Camilla Belle, nailed Parisian chic with this feminine look – and it's no wonder when the ladies have these ensembles direct from the A/W ‘09 Vuitton catwalk at their disposal... Jealous? Us?

Over at the Miu Miu show, Kate Moss was out to impress and certainly had a formidable edge in this skin-tight leather number that stretched across those killer curves, exagerrated by a studded belt from her Kate Moss for Topshop collection. We all know that where La Moss leads, the fashion elite follow so no doubt we’ll be spotting more celebs tackling the trend this autumn - we've already spotted Dita going all dominatrix on us but who'll be next? Julia Restoin Roitfeld certainly paralleled Kate’s leather loving but kept it safe with her biker jacket that toughened up her velvet dress and those fierce heels. Très bon!

Nelly Furtado rocked up at the Elie Saab show looking rather sexy in one of the designer's fitted frocks and teamed it with black accessories to match her dark hair and break up all the dove grey wool going on. The interesting neckline’s a nice touch and certainly enhanced those subtly structured shoulders.

katy perry

Katy Perry continued her marathon of shows in the French capital when she took her seat for the John Galliano show. We’re slightly dress obsessed with this pink strapless gown with floral detailing perhaps because it reminds us of our Disney princess dress-up days. Although we can’t say we imagined our Prince Charming looking quite so scruffy...

Speaking of Princes, we want to pay homage to one of our favourite looks now that the fashionable festivities draw to a close. Most couples shy away from co-ordinating their outfits in fear of coming over all Britney-and-Justin circa 1998, but not Prince and his missus, oh no! At the VIP afterparty for Fendi, the legendary singer arrived with Ana Moura in a fit of purple passion complete with satin shoes and an oversized gold necklace. Garish anyone? Hmm, looks like Halloween has come a little early...
