Of course, you’re probably also watching the Louis Vuitton show (live NOW on Facebook)
Update! The show started so promptly that people were still on the catwalk trying to find their seats when the first model appeared, pushing through them to walk down the runway!
Check out those giant Afro wigs! This is like ghetto fabulous! Tweed jackets were ladylike with big patch pockets reminiscent of safari jackets. Plus lots of neutral parkas over miniskirts and more outerwear than we expected for the summer.
Skirts were pleated like gym skirts – think of a Harajuku girl look, while miniskirts came with clear sparkly stretchy net and. cycling shorts. For feet, we saw clog-sole shoes with a small heel – nothing was very high – and there were trimmings of tassels and tiny pom-poms.
Bags: all worn over the body, low on the hips, with beaver tails in fluorescent lime green and orange as trims. One of the bags is cut like a Louis Vuitton glossy refuse sack over one shoulder; made of patent leather or latex or some high-tech thing.
Everything is all mashed up together. It was uber funky – seeing all the outfits together in the finale seemed to make sense of it.
Did it work? We’re still processing it all; check back later for our full show report!
