OMG! +J sales go through the roof!

OK, so we always predicted big things for the +J collection for Uniqlo. And judging by the launch last Thursday we weren’t wrong, as a style-savvy queue meandered its way down Oxford Street to get their hands on the new line by Jil Sander. But even we couldn’t believe our ears when we heard the sales stats from the day. The shop made their target by 11am, and then five times over by the time they closed at 9pm. The Uniqlo website nearly crashed as web sales reached a whopping 1,750% increase on usual daily targets… amazing!

'Simon, our CEO, was working on the shop floor all day long – as were most of the head office staff, helping customers and finding sizes,' says Amy Howarth, Uniqlo’s head of marketing. 'It was really gratifying chatting to the customers, who were all so excited about the collection – some came in clutching tear-outs from Grazia!' Ehem, not that we’re taking the credit or anything…
