Burberry’s Spring 2010 catwalk collection was certainly pretty amazing, but on Monday, Burberry did something even more amazing – they allowed customers to sign up to place a special pre-order for two of the gorgeous trench coats from the next-season collection, which would then be delivered to the lucky few – wait for it- NEXT MONTH! Yes, a full three months before the collection hits stores.
The two Prorsum label pieces, a Nude Glove Suede Coat, with ruched shoulders, and a Nude Feathered Leather Trench Coat, take a very Spring 2010 twist - pale nudes and draping - on the house’s classic trench, and are sure to have Burberry fans drooling. And let’s face it, the chance to wear Prorsum a full season before anyone else, is an opportunity that’s too good to miss.
So you want to hear the bad news? Here it is: Burberry quietly opened the orders on the label’s website on Monday - and closed them last night. Closed. Finished. Over. We don’t want to go into too much detail about the anguished wailing that followed Grazia’s realisation that we’d missed the fashion boat, (let’s just say, it wasn’t pretty…)
But here’s the good news. We called our friends over at Burberry, and miraculously, they agreed to re-open orders, just for Grazia! So for one day only, until midnight tonight, if you order one of the Spring 2010 trench coats it will still be delivered in November 2009. The two pieces are available in a limited quantity and allocated on a first come, first served basis.
