On the day that Cheryl Cole has debuted her new single, Fight For This Love, it seems that she is still planning to add to her CV. Not happy with just singer, TV presenter and WAG, apparently she is now going to add fashion designer to her cap. It has emerged that Cheryl is set to challenge VB’s fashion range, but after saying that Posh’s clothes were for ‘older women’, the Girls Aloud star plans to attract a younger audience. ‘With her new hair and edgier clothes choices, Cheryl has told work colleagues that she wants to capitalise on her best dressed status and is exploring the possibilities of launching her own fashion label next year,’ reports state. The range is to include casual wear, handbags and formal dresses. While it’s been months since we’ve seen Cheryl in casual wear, formal dresses have become something of her signature in recent months. But as Victoria may (or may not) have been mentored by designer, Roland Mouret, who could Cheryl turn to for help with her pattern cutting and trips to the fabric market? Well, her and Matthew Williamson have become something of a double-act these days – and she does love a bit of girly bling. They could create a gorgeous collection of pink frocks together and be the toast of the Girls Aloud pack. Or perhaps with rumours that she is planning to toughen up her style act, she could join forces with Preen, who have been working with her on her X Factor wardrobe? We can imagine edgy bandage dresses in black, but with a little bit of Cheryl sparkle thrown in for good measure.
Whether the rumours are true or not, this is a collection we want to encourage – if only for the runway walk-off between Chezza and Vicky!
