We often find ourselves thinking ‘What Would Lara Stone Do?’
We’ve loved the curvalicious Dutch model ever since she first appeared on Miuccia Prada’s catwalk, way back in 2007.
As of today, the answer to the WWLSD question, would be: shop at Not Just A Label, a beyond-cool online store specialising in selling young designers’ pieces, from the latest fashion graduates to more established names like Damir Domar.
The gap-toothed Bardot lookalike has chosen 50 of her favourite pieces, for a special curated section on the site, which gives us a good idea of Lara’s personal style ‘she loves leather, very tomboyish stuff’ says NJAL co-founder Stefan Siegel, who says the 25 year old model ‘basically wanted to choose all black, but when we asked her to choose some colour she fell in love with an orange felted shift dress - and it was by a recent graduate from Ravensbourne College.’
Her four top pieces have been renamed as the Lara Stone micro-collection [see pic above], featuring a black leather bolero, a black miniskirt made of elastic straps, a black spiderweb style sweater, and the orange felted shift dress, and all modelled by the girl herself, in a shoot at the site’s London HQ, just last week.
And naturally, Lara couldn’t resist a bit of shopping herself - she bought two of Aoi Kotsuhiroi’s spooky-cool crystal, silk and Japanese lacquer rings on the spot, 'she took home the spider way ring and the two hearts ring [below], and now she wants to buy more of Aoi’s pieces' says Stefan. Go, Lara!
