While the rest of us sat in the park this weekend, cursing the BBC weather ‘forecasts’ and mainlining Pringles (we saw you), our favourite A-list hipsters jetted off to Tokyo for the launch of edgy US clothing company Opening Ceremony’s flagship megastore.

Just how cool is Opening Ceremony? Well, not only have co-founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim (see pic above) got boutiques in NY and LA, and now Tokyo, selling the planet’s hottest designers, but they’ve also got fashion goddess Chloë Sevigny to collaborate on a label! (Check out their awesome merch here) No wonder the A-list couldn’t resist.

Present at the party: adorably kooky tomboy Kirsten Dunst – remember her? – rocking a dress that was totally Alice-In-Wonderland-attends-a-funeral, and model-designer Erin Wasson in genius leopard-print shorts, escorted by BFF Alexander Wang, who was skiving off before the NY shows – naughty.

Plus! The Olsen twins in lace animal ears (in case you hadn’t noticed, bunny ears have taken over from the Bat For Lashes headband as the look-at-me party accessory OTM). Always one step ahead of the curve/other twin, Mary-Kate was wearing mouse bear ears; rabbit ears are just sooo last week (oops, sorry Ashley).

Also present: Julian Casablancas, the beyond-hot ex-frontman for The Strokes, doing a showcase of songs from his soon-to-be-released album Phrazes For The Young which, judging by his wow new video (watch it here), looks set to be a '70s-style prog rock masterpiece. Pretentious is the new cool, people.
