Renée Zellweger and Carolina Herrera to part ways?

25 August 2009

Just last week Hollywood actress Renée Zellweger showcased no less than four Carolina Herrera numbers out and about in New York City. The 40-year-old is rarely papped on the red carpet sans a Herrera frock courtesy of the designer, so it comes as a shock to learn that she may be changing her fashion allegiance following a shake up within the Puig Fashion Group. President and veteran fashion executive Mario Grauso, who oversees Puig’s Carolina Herrera, Nina Ricci and Paco Rabanne fashion houses, has reportedly submitted his resignation and will step down after New York Fashion Week next month amid speculation he was unhappy with the departure of Nina Ricci’s Creative Director Olivier Theyskens. And it looks like he’ll be taking his A-list clients with him. Grauso is credited with introducing Renée Zellweger, Amy Adams and Reese Witherspoon to the line, with reports surfacing that 'None of them will wear Carolina Herrera on the red carpet now that he's gone… Mario paved the way for the brand by putting Renée in Herrera for award shows and carpets. He made it youthful.' Hmmm, wonder if Anna Wintour will follow suit…
