How to be in fashion in a recession

In these troubled economic times, we’re all about looking for ways to make our wardrobes recession-friendly. You know, like popping shoulder pads into last season’s best dress and dragging your grandmother’s sewing machine out from a dusty corner to turn those bootleg jeans into tapered versions. But we’re not sure about this trend spotted on the New York subways: wrapping new purchase designer shoes in plastic bags so you can take them back when you’ve worn them once. Come on, ladies. Surely if you’re going to splash out on Prada’s new gladiator-fan heels you want them to be seen in their full glory. Mind you – this could be a genius way of stopping the red soles scrape off our Louboutins. Joking! [Huffington Post]
