Beyoncé’s clothing line launches daywear

Ever since Beyoncé Knowles launched her clothing line House of Deréon with mum Tina back in 2004, we’ve been waiting and waiting for them to design some pieces that we can, well, actually wear. Let’s face it, booty shakin’ gold spandex and sequin basques à la Thierry Mugler just aren’t going to cut it in the workplace. (Even Grazia HQ). Good news then, for those of you that like a summer dress or two, as the label will be launching a full collection of contemporary daywear next spring. ‘Beyoncé and I have had several occasions where we have meetings all day and don’t have time to run and change before dinner,’ said Mummy Knowles. ‘This is a perfect collection to wear from the office to dinner because each piece can easily be dressed up or down.’ The new season offering – available at major US department stores and online for us Brits too – will also feature silk jumpsuits and light embroidered knits. But, of course, given Beyoncé’s shoe addiction it looks like we can be expecting some eight inch heels to arrive soon too. ‘I’m really hoping we can go into accessories really soon, especially jewellery… And as for shoes, that’s completely Beyoncé’s thing.’ Why does that not surprise us… [WWD]
