Let's pay homage to Lily Cole...

Lily Cole

...because it totally seems like it's the Brit model's week. First Lily proves her acting credentials and now she reminds us just how brilliant she is at her day job in this shoot for the New York Times Style magazine. But aside from the stylised images shot by Paolo Roversi, what we really love is the accompanying editorial about what the Americans think of British beauty. ‘Women? They had complexions like an English rose: the horticultural imagery is significant since lush gardens and creamy-pink women are among the few consolations of a wretched climate.' Still, it seems that hasn't put them off our models - Lily or otherwise. ‘The decadent, flame-haired, full-figured angel has even begun to overshadow Kate Moss's chiseled urchin,' says writer Stephen Bayley of his muse. Oh er. [New York Times]
