I am 19 years old and starting uni in September. To boost my confidence, I have been sticking to a regular two-hour exercise regime and healthy diet. My figure is starting to look fabulous! Please can you tell me what staple items I should be aiming to buy this winter? Itsmekate
Congratulations! The fashion world is your oyster right now and I suggest you get busy with three key looks that have easily interchangeable elements. Get yourself a pair of skinny trousers (or jeans), glam them up with a statement tee (à la Balmain), add a bit of an edge with a buckle boot (see Rodarte). Basic jackets are a mannish blazer (sharp shoulders, please) and the softest leather jacket you can afford (biker style). Finish your outerwear basics with a simple masculine overcoat and get an ultra-feminine dress to slip underneath for nights out (see Stella McCartney for inspiration). Finally, find the best chunky knit you can get and top it off with a super-long scarf. Then you're set!
