Louise Goldin teams up with Ballantyne

Louise Goldin

Ballantyne is a historic Scottish company, famous for its superb quality cashmere. Oh, and for making argyle cool again. (Remember that Sophie Dahl campaign, where we wanted, like, everything?) Louise Goldin is a British knitwear designer whose edgy, fierce collections have earned her rave reviews since she graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2001. So we're very excited by this morning's news that the two are collaborating on a capsule collection, which is expected to be launched during September's London Fashion Week. The 40-piece range will include short dresses, skirts and tops in shades of royal blue, coral and purple. ‘Goldin is an unquestionable talent in our field and we liked the idea of linking our experience to her creative skills and at the same time strengthening our British roots,' said Ballantyne's chief executive officer Giuseppe Rossi of the collaboration, which will continue until autumn 2010. Knowing Louise's exceptional talent and Ballantyne's eye for detail, we'll be watching this develop very closely. [WWD]
