Daphne Guinness is one of our favourite clothes horses. There is surely no fashion that she would deem too outrageous and no heels that she would deem too high (we've never seen her in flats). She is always immaculately turned out in designers like Chanel, Alexander McQueen and Gareth Pugh, but how would she describe her personal style? ‘Regular. Stuff that fits,' Daphne revealed recently. Really? Regular? If she looks regular, what on earth do we look like?! But now she has created a perfume in collaboration with Comme des Garcons, called Daphne, which is launching in store next month. She has been perfecting her own scent for years, and obviously quite successfully too, as she claims that taxi drivers regularly ask her what she's wearing. So why has she always been so interested in perfume? ‘It's very difficult to describe in words. It's a mystery... Sometimes when you fall in love with people, you actually fall in love with their smell.' Daphne says that she likes a ‘woodsy and kind of jasmine-y, tuberose-y, sort of thing', so expect a heavier scent from her signature fragrance, perfect for long winter evenings in regular Gareth Pugh catwalk looks!
