The sudden increase in model-turned-designer collaborations (Erin Wasson, Kate Moss and Yasmin Le Bon, we mean you) seems to be a trend that's here to stay. And supermodel Amber Valletta is the latest to jump on the fash-wagon after collaborating with LA-based contemporary sportswear brand Monrow, launching in November. Set to be named simply ‘Amber Valletta for Monrow', the 35-year-old has revealed that her first collection will include everything from easy-to-layer T-shirts and tanks, to day dresses, tailored blazers and scarves. ‘I have discovered that I have an aesthetic and a point of view, and I do know what looks good on different bodies,' she said. ‘I can really appreciate the design process and we have put so much into making each item look right and fit many different body types. I have a whole new level of respect for the industry.' Designed in a colour palette of pale blues, greys and creams, the collection won't be breaking the budget either, with wholesale prices so far starting from £40. Not bad for a woman who ‘never thought about designing at all', hey? [WWD]
