Dolce & Gabbana spark an A-list fash-off

Dolce & Gabbana Dolce & Gabbana

There we were thinking that fashionistas – let alone serious A-listers – wouldn't be seen dead in the same dress. But it seems the rules change when said dress is one designed by Dolce & Gabbana. Because Madonna and Whitney Houston both wore the identical grey leopard-print dress – on the very same night! Luckily they were at separate events so were spared that ‘Uh oh, where are the canapés to hide behind?' moment. Madge was continuing her D&G love-in after dining with the designers in Milan while Whitters was kicking off her comeback by launching her album in London yesterday. Great minds and all that, but the big question is: who wore it best? We reckon schmoozing with the designers of said dress gives Madge a slight advantage...

  • The right royal Madge without a doubt for me.
Not a fan of Whitney (fabulous voice though and absolutely beautiful before the Bobby Brown days) especially when she use to harp on that Madonna was a bad influence and role model before scooting off to the bathroom for a shot of herion (probably)

  • Come on Grazia…it's time to go to Specsavers (perhaps the insane amount of monochrome at the Dolce and Gabbana A/W 09 show made your eyes go fuzzy)!
The dresses are not exactly the same…they are different 'animal' prints (one is leopard the other looks like Dalmatian).
As for who looks better…In my opinion even having Stefano, Domenico and gorgeous Jesus in the picture Madonna is still looking fatigued whereas Whitney is looking happy, healthy and fresh faced at her comeback launch.

  • Whitney for me, she looks acers. Love the print on her as well, the dalmation version looks much more stylish. She also has the frame and skin tone to make it look even better.

  • They're definitley both wearing the same D&G dress stylish - perhaps the pattern is stretched differently considering the women don't have the same figure! Whitney looks amazing and it's about time she's back on the scene but Madonna's the clear winner. How handy to have the designers themselves on tap to make sure she looks just right. But really, how much arm candy does one woman need?! Show off.

  • wow how embarrasing that a couple of the biggest divas wear the same dress....woops...but i think they both look amaze, surprisingly elegant despite both being over 50 and wearing animal print. how do they do it?

  • Hmmm, I think Whitney looks a bit drag queenish with that bad wig that she's wearing plus I'm not sure the print of the dress is doing her any favours so its Madonna for me all the way.

  • I disagree, they are not the same print, Mads is leopard and Whitney's is something else, plus Madonna's looks like it has a slightly cowl neckline and is on a grey background, Whitney's has a more sparse white background.

  • These dresses are made to fit. Of course they won't be identical. They are from the same design though. Durr.

  • Actually one is leopard, and the other is lesser spotted mongoose. GET A LIFE, IT'S THE SAME DRESS!!

  • Exactly! Shopping for these divas isn't quite the same as it is for us normal folk, ie: buying identical dresses off a rail at Topshop! Madge seems chummy enough with D&G to get the dress adapted especially for her...

  • The prints are not the same, big designers dont use cheap material so therefore not every piece is exacally the same, just simular.
