Karl Lagerfeld to stay put at Chanel

09 July 2009

Rumours spin around fashion quicker than Matthew Williamson for H&M sold out of stores (and that was super fast). But as with all rumours it's always wise to check facts before they spiral out of control. Last month stories of Karl Lagerfeld's planned departure from Chanel hit the blogs and soon was being told as fact. But thankfully Mr Lagerfeld set the record straight at couture this week and told New York Times' Cathy Horyn that he plans to die with his boots on. He also told her that Alain Wertheimer, who owns Chanel, ‘said he would sell the house when the designers leave. This might not be the case, but it was a nice thing to be told.' Phew. Considering fashion changes all the time, for now we don't think we could handle Chanel without Karl.
