London Fashion Week has a bit of a hard time when it comes to attracting the Americans. French, Italians, Australians... Russians... no problem, they come in their dozens, but the Americans? Nope, no dragging them. Maybe it's just that they are concentrating on packing for Milan and Paris, or they are exhausted after New York Fashion Week. Whatever the reason, the big New York fashion hacks and buyers stay put. But this September might be a different story. We hear that the British Fashion Council's chairman, Harold Tillman, has hired NY PR firm People's Revolution to put US bums on seats. The very same company that hired The Hills' Lauren Conrad and Whitney Port to work backstage at some shows last season. The owner, Kelly Cutrone, is renowned for her packed contact book, not to mention her very strong links to TV channel Bravo – apparently, she has her own reality show in the wings, Kell On Earth. Now we don't know if Kelly has the power to pull Anna Wintour to the front rows – she was last seen here seven seasons ago – but surely the combined strength of her address book together with all the returning designers (Burberry, Matthew Williamson, Jeremy Scott, Pringle of Scotland and Jonathan Saunders) whom Anna is known to love can?
