Grazia in Paris: Givenchy Redux

In between a Dior show and a huge bunch of flowers from Karl Lagerfeld, I visited the Givenchy showroom in Paris yesterday where there was a presentation of a new collection of iconic Givenchy pieces that we are promised will be priced reasonably and available in October. Think of the Givenchy pieces you have always wanted and they are sure to be there: the billowy blouses (tick), the studded leather (tick), the lean pants (tick). I love it that, once again, the miserable economy has come to our aid, encouraging designers not to ditch their key pieces in the relentless search for new things. It's refreshing to know the pieces you love might just be around for long enough to give us time to save up for them. Hurrah!
