Giles Deacon may be taking his Giles fashion show experience to Paris Fashion Week this September, but we've just heard the showman gap he leaves is already filled with American pop art designer Jeremy Scott. A Giles show attracts the great, the good and the eccentric, but so does a Jeremy Scott show. Beth Ditto, Leigh Lezark and Pixie Geldof all attended his last collection, as well as his club-kid fan base, who follow the designer like he is a modern-day svengali to popular culture. A Jeremy Scott show will give a fun edge to LFW. His idea of fashion is to rework Minnie Mouse outfits, or dress a girl up in a giant Snickers bar. He also does some mean collaborations with mega-brands such as Adidas (he was in their last brilliant TV ads) and French bag company Longchamp, with whom he collaborates each season to create a free bag which is given to all the front-rowers. So why is Jeremy coming to London after having a few successful seasons in Paris? ‘He wants to build a following in London after doing so in Paris for the last few seasons. He is also opening a shop,' says a spokeswoman for the designer. We're finding out more. The British Fashion Council is expected to announce that Jeremy is to show in London on Tuesday September 22nd any day now. We'll keep you posted on shop location. You'll know when we do.
