First look: Lily Allen for Chanel!
Ever since we broke the news that Lily Allen had scored the A/W handbag campaign for Chanel, we've been obsessing over the details. Was that why Lily was Eurostarring into Paris for the day? Does it explain her new-found fashion mojo? And the frankly humongous Chanel bag she's been toting around lately? Well, the jury's still out but we do know from this one shot Chanel have just released (ooh, they do like to tease), the setting was pure Louis XIV opulence. And just in case you were wondering, that's King Karl's powdered coiffure in the foreground...

- To me, Lily Allen's personal style and attitude goes against everything Chanel stands for. Sure, give her an ASOS gig or even McQueen or something, but not Chanel.
Even if it wasn't for the fact I can't stand her, I could appreciate the rationale if she was innately, simply stylish, elegant, demure, alluring... but she's none of the above, and an awful lot of adjectives I probably would be deleted for writing on here!
Get rid, Karl!
SassyJ - I don't get it either. Just because she's always photographed in their stuff doesn't mean she deserves to front a campaign.
PINKYDISCO - With a bit of Chanel Lily has been transformed and surely thats what chanel is all about? Taking the ordinary and making you feel extraordinary... I say good on her!
gennalouise - Hmmm, I'm in two minds about this. When Lily Allen makes an effort she looks absolutely stunning and I like the fact she's young, talented and quirky but then again she has a really crass side to her. I dislike the way she is pretty spiteful sometimes. The slanging match between her and Cheryl Cole was just idiotic and actually pretty vile. She is great but for me not a Chanel muse.
fashionrat - It does seem bizarre, Burberry started out quite stuffy and then was picked up on the radar of the mass market...
Patra - The thing is that when Lily is dressed head to toe in Chanel she looks just fabulous. Some women can carry Chanel, and some women transform when they wear it... and that's Lily.
Plus she has an air of the Coco about her with the fine bones and the little fringe now.
She looks marvellous when she makes the effort.
