When we grow up, can we be Rosita Missoni, please? Last night, at the launch of fab new exhibition Workshop Missoni: Daring to be Different at North London's Esoterik Gallery, the fashion grand damme gave us a lesson in living life in Italian style.
After showing friends and fashion journalists around the exhibition, Rosita and her husband – fellow Missoni founder Ottavio (Tai) – and family joined guests on the gallery's sun-drenched lawn, enjoying fine prosecco (Missoni is an iconic Italian brand, after all), buckwheat blinis with London smoked salmon, sour cream and Avruga caviar, seared tuna sashimi with spicy avocado and pickled ginger and chargrilled rosemary-marinated lamb fillet with babaganoush.
Then, after charming the Missoni-clad crowd (a gorgeous zigzag knitted minidress here, a stripy Missoni shawl there...) they popped to Locanda Locatelli (where else?) for a spot of dinner – and even the taxis that picked them up were resplendent with Missoni zigzags. Now if that's not ‘eleganza', we don't know what is.
