Fashion 118: Perfect Packing

Last year the airline lost my luggage with all my favourite holiday pieces in it. This year I have vowed to go with hand luggage only. Can you suggest a summer holiday wardrobe that would fit in hand luggage? Susan T

Easy! All those filmy fabrics that look as good crushed as they do crisp are perfect for a fuss-free holiday. Where it all goes pear-shaped for me is in the accessories department, but you really don't need more than one pair of high heels. And one or two pieces of jewellery are all that's required to transform a day dress for the evening. Also, wear any tailored items on your travels so you don't have to pack them at all - they may even get you an upgrade. If you start to weaken, then make sure every piece you choose works with at least two others in your case. Dresses that double as kaftans or tunics over trousers are invaluable.
