Congratulations have got to go to Giles Deacon this morning. News leaking from Paris this morning is that the designer has won the largest international fashion award, the 2009 Association Nationale pour le Développement des Arts de la Mode (ANDAM) – netting himself over £137,000 in prize money. Previous winners have included Martin Margiela, Viktor & Rolf and last year's fellow Brit designer Gareth Pugh. And, like Gareth, Giles Deacon is said to be moving his show from London to Paris next season to celebrate his win. No official word yet – the press release is expected to be sent out today – but all we can say for now is... noooo! It's a good job we've got Jonathan Saunders, Burberry, Pringle and Matthew Williamson coming back to London Fashion Week this season to console us, we suppose... [Hint Mag]
